Babies, Oh Joy!

Exciting year as we're welcoming a few babies into the family. This card is for my beautiful niece who already lights up the room with activity. She's surrounded by 8 older cousins between the ages of 3 and 10 who get into a noisy line waiting their turn to hold her as the mommies hold their breath - LOL.

So hard to make the perfect baby card and after the third try, this is the best I came up with. I did a combination of things and don't remember if inspiration came to me or if I've seen this layout somewhere else.

For the background, I used the new Spellbinder Butterfly Impressionabilities I got from Skribbles and Scraps. I really like the subtle embossed pattern but will fiddle with my Cuttlebug a bit more next time by adding a piece of cardstock or thin chipboard for a crisper impression. Also loving these beautiful Prima flowers I got from Phebe at the Town Scrapper.

Bella Birthday

I'm on a Stamping Bella kick lately cause I just loooove her stamps. Stamping with them is a snap cause they are gorgeous and deeply etched. I took a class with the very talented and inspirational Nickybella - waving to Nicky - and borrowed this wonderful tri-fold layout from her. Of course, I'll be using this layout again.

Card was for my hip sister-in-law who just loved it. Thought the layout was fab. Here's hoping I get her hooked on this craft. So much more fun to craft in numbers - LOL!

I'm working on another card, which I've redone three times now, so pop on over later this week. I hope to have 1 or 2 more to show you.

Happy Monday and Blog Candy

I've been missing from Blogland for 2 months due to a car accident. Early April I was rear-ended while driving on the Highway by someone who was in a rush and not paying attention to stopped traffic. I've had to take things a bit slow due to bad whiplash so I won't be posting or creating as often as I would like.

This is the first card I've made since the accident. My daughter went to a birthday party yesterday and we made this card together. The images are Penny Black stickers my daughter said she just "had to have for the card, mommy", so how could I say NO when I feel that way about sooooo many stamps, paper, embellies..... - LOL. I like how it turned out but I have to tell you it's not how I envisioned it. I'm obviously out of practice but sometimes the best cards turn out when you just go with the flow.

I would like to send a big hug and thank you to all those who have stuck with me during my absence and for the wonderful emails of concern and good wishes. Two parcels I sent out in April did not reach their destination so I've posted some replacements. Lost mail happens but twice - urrrgh seems a bit strange! I may opt to do Gift Certificates more often in future as they've proven more reliable.
