Making a Scene with Make-it-Crafty

Hi everyone and welcome to our first Technique Challenge at Make-it-Crafty.   It's all about 'Making a Scene' so join in the fun by combining digis or use a digi with a character stamp or stamp out a character and mask a scene over it ~ whatever you like.  You do not have to use Make-It-Crafty images but of course we would love to see what you create using them.  Our crafty DT member Sandy has put together a fabulous tutorial HERE on how to combine digis to make a scene by using Photoshop Elements.  For those who don't have Photoshop Elements, HERE is Zoe's rockin' video tutorial on how to create a scene with digis by using Microsoft Word.

Since this is a Technique Challenge, there will be 2 prizes and the winners selected by Zoe.  Prizes are listed at the end of this long post as an added incentive to read the whole post - lol.

We have a wonderful twist for our Technique Challenges.  A Learning Centre has been set-up for anyone interested in learning the featured technique and getting constructive feedback.  Please do NOT enter your project into the Learning Centre unless you want REAL CONSTRUCTIVE ADVICE ON HOW YOU MAY IMPROVE!!

Not interested in the Learning Centre?  No problem.  To enter the challenge portion only, please link your project using Inlinkz on the challenge blog

For today's card I combined 2 digital images by using Adobe Photoshop Elements.  The Garden Fence is a Make-it-Crafty digi and the sweet girl I added is Elisabeth Bell's I Love You This Much.  Images were printed onto Xpress-it Blending Card (totally my favest paper ever!!) and coloured with Copics.  Zoe has a great You Tube video tutorial on how to add Shadow & Depth to your colouring with gray Copic markers HERE.

Most of the papers were distressed and the edges inked with 2 Tim Holtz' Distress Inks: Walnut Stain and Worn Lipstick.  Cardstock, DPs and lace are from my stash.  Prima flowers were sponged with TH's Worn Lipstick Distress Ink and the hat pin was a gift from Zoe.  Rhinestone swirls were bought at Michaels.

I'm entering the following challenges:
Have a look-see at what the talented ladies of the Make-it-Crafty DT have created for your inspiration.  Deadline to participate is September 21 so go get crafty because we'd love to see your creations.  Ooooh and here's a list of the wonderful prizes.

Prize One:

  • 1 winner will receive their choice of 3 digital stamps plus a winners badge
  • An additional top 2 who will each receive 1 digi stamp of their choice plus a 'top' badge

Prize Two: Encouragement Award
  • To be eligble for the encouragement award, you must be a member of the 'Create a Scene' group in the learning centre and have requested assistance in learning the technique.
  • Winner will receive a choice of 3 digital stamps plus a special 'I learnt it' badge

Hugs,
Maria
