Distressing with A Spoon Full of Sugar

Happy Tuesday Everyone!  I can't believe I've been MIA for one week but we've had a lot going on here so it couldn't be helped.  Stay tuned as I have a few posts planned for the week.

This week's challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar is distressing and our sponsor this week is Blackleaf Studio.  I am a recent happy convert to everything distressing and now I only cringe a teeny tiny bit ~ lol ~ when tearing into my pretty papers or sponging ink around them.  You have until next Monday, November 22 to submit a creation and I hope you'll get a chance to give it a try.

I've inked up Magnolia's Tilda Wants a Hug from the Merry Christmas 2010 Collection, available at the Magnolia-licious online storeYou should see the rest of the fabulous stamps in the Merry Christmas 2010 Collection .  AND if you loooove Magnolias as much as me, then don't forget to enter my blog candy HERE for a chance to win a $25 Gift Certificate to the Magnolia-licious online store.

This image is one of my faves because it reminds me of my youngest who still loves getting hugs and cuddles. I had a chuckle when I read the sentiment on the DP too because combined with this Tilda, I couldn't think of anything else but "All I want for Christmas is.......THIS MUCH".  Don't all kids just want it all at Christmas ~ teeheehee!  This card was super easy to put together because I used the Bo Bunny, Tis the Season, Cut Outs, available at Skribbles and Scraps.  I bought a few sheets so I can whip up some Christmas cards using various cut outs and then just pop on a different image on each.  I kept the card simple with the red pearls at the corners as the only embellishments so Tilda and the papers remain the focus.

I'm entering the card into the following challenges as well:
Have a great day and see you tomorrow for my Sundays with Chrissy creation.

Hugs,
Maria

Maria...this is another fantastic card!! LOL, I'm pretty sure I distress almost EVERYTHING on my cards! I seldom make a card without reaching for my Distress Inks and I also love the texture of roughing up those paper edges.

Beautiful card...and great sentiment!!

This is fabulous!! Just goes to show that you can create something beautiful with just a few items!! I love the simplicity of it. Sometimes I get so stressed trying to add all the embellies. This is definitely right up my alley! Hugs, Rosemary

Maria,
This is just adorable!!! Yes, the kids want everything LOL
But Tilda only wants a hug, like me.....
When I first looked at it I thought you had made it a framed picture to put up at Christmas time.
I love it - so sweet and innocent. Great papers. Great tree with the gifts underneath and wonderful font on the sentiment.
