Favourite Things at Sundays with Crissy and NEWS

Happy Mother's Day friends and fellow crafters!  Hope you enjoy your special day and that your families have something fun, amazing and wonderful planned for you that has you pampered for the day.

Well I have some oh so fabulously exciting news to share!  I'm so happy that I have just been bursting with excitement and dancing and giddy ever since Crissy Armstrong ~ uber talented illustrator extraordinaire and one of the nicest people you'll ever meet ~ invited me to be part of her DT at Sundays with Crissy.  Wooohoo, I'm still twirling around in my house!  Crissy's images were the very very first I ever purchased, stamped with and made crafts with when I first started papercrafting just over 2 years ago so being part of her design team is extra special for me.   To top things off, I'm going to be working with the creme de la creme.  Have a look at the super talented crafter's on Crissy's Crew on my sidebar under the adorable elephant button.  You'll be drooling when you visit these talented ladies' blogs and view their creations!

Here is my first creation as part of Crissy's Crew on Sundays with Crissy.  SWC is a bi-weekly challenge blog so you will have 2 weeks to work on your projects and for those of us who are sooo busy, this is just perfect.  Crissy's digital images from Squigglefly, Whimsy and Wags 'n Whiskers will be featured but you can use whatever images you'd like on your projects.  But if you have Crissy's digital images, we'd love to see them and you just might be the random winner of a great prize once a month.  This week's challenge is 'Favourite Things'.  So pull out your favourite things to use for your projects.  The sky's the limit!

A little funny tidbit for you ~ well actually not so funny at the time but life happens.  This is actually my second card for this week's challenge.  I left my first card on the kitchen counter and nudged a tall glass of chocolate milk as I walked by to get my camera to take a pic.  Weeeeeell, you can guess the rest - sigh.  I was so shocked I didn't know whether to laugh or cry and only had myself to blame for this little mishap.  My girls and hubby let out a shocked ooooooh and then there was silence until I said, "well it certainly is a yummy card now".  My girls hugged me and said, 'its ok, accidents happen to mommy too' - lol so precious.

Here's a close-up of the digital image Bear Hug, which is of course one Crissy's gorgeous illustrations, which can be purchased from Wags 'n Whiskers.  Image was printed on Gina K paper and coloured with Copics and a sprinkling of Stickles here and there.  Copics used: Blender, BG000, BG10, BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18, BG72, BG75, C1, C3, C5, C7, C9, E000, E00, E11, E41, E42, E43, E44, E47, E49, E50, E53, R20, RV09, RV10 & RV13.  The rag technique on the bear is becoming one of my favourite techniques since I first used it a couple of weeks ago.  I find it challenging to colour black hair but its also my favourite to colour.  Other favourites for me are these yummy My Mind's Eye Papers from their Quite Contrary Line and the beautiful hat pins, pearls and yummy Petaloo flower are becoming a must-have for my projects.

I'm also entering this card into the following challenges:

Thanks for reading through my long happy post.  Have a wonderful Sunday and I'm looking forward to seeing your projects over at Sundays with Crissy.

Hugs,
Maria
